Terms of Use
By using compressorgif.com and its tools (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service
The Service provides free, browser-based tools to compress, resize and optimize animated GIF images. All processing takes place locally in your web browser; your files are not uploaded to our servers. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.
Your files and content
You keep all rights to the files you process. Because files are processed on your device, we never receive, store or claim any rights to them. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use, modify and share any file you process with the Service.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to process content you have no right to use,
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the website, its server or its hosting infrastructure,
- use automated means to access the website in a way that places an unreasonable load on it,
- remove or misrepresent copyright, license or attribution notices, or present the Service as your own.
Intellectual property
The website design, text, logo and the name “GIF Compressor”, as well as our own code, are owned by the operator of compressorgif.com and protected by applicable intellectual property laws, except where stated otherwise. You may link to the website freely.
Third-party open-source software
The GIF tool includes the following open-source libraries, each used under the MIT License:
- gifuct-js 2.1.2 (GIF decoding)
- js-binary-schema-parser 2.0.3 (used by gifuct-js)
- gifenc 1.0.3 (color quantization)
- fflate 0.8.2 (creating ZIP files for batch downloads)
The copyright notices and full license texts of these libraries are distributed with the tool. The MIT License grants the right to use, copy, modify and distribute that software, subject to the license conditions, and those rights are not limited by these Terms.
No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, free of charge and without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Compression results depend on the source file and the settings you choose; we do not guarantee any particular file size, image quality or compatibility with any platform. Always keep a copy of your original files.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of compressorgif.com shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits or business, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.
Links to other websites
The website may contain links to third-party websites. We have no control over their content and are not responsible for it.
Privacy
Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its effective date. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
